In my Design I course, my midterm assignment was to choose a cultural event, existing or made up, to promote and create at least 3 posters and 3 mobile graphics. I chose one of my favorite bands and their upcoming European tour in 2021.
While the band already had promotional content for their tour, I felt that it would be interesting for me to "re-brand" their content in a way that represents the music from their new album while still maintaining a sense of uniformity across multiple platforms. I did research on their current brand and then created a mood board to further explore the type of identity I wanted to create for the band. I wanted it to be grungy, but still open and energetic.
In total, I created four variations of the main tour poster for each of the band members. I created an additional three posters with more information on the tour as well another iteration of the main tour poster with just the band's logo. When designing the mobile graphics, I took the poster designs and chose to animate certain elements that I could see having a sense of motion. For the project, the photographs I used were taken by Aimee Giese of Giese Media.
