I wouldn't go as far as to say that I'm a professional photographer, but while home during COVID,  I wanted to make a photographic-documentation of Denton, Texas, which is a relatively small, southern suburb of North Texas near where I grew up. I felt that Denton would be an interesting subject in that it holds both personal and historical significance. Besides being my near my hometown, Denton is one of the oldest settlements in North Texas with a history dating back to the mid-1800s. With this, there are a few historical-based locations, many of which have ties to the South’s history of slavery, racism, violence, and isolation from the rest of the country. In many ways, it is the ideal "Southern Suburbia."
